For the last few weeks, I have been a walking version of this moment in New Girl because…
My debut romcom novel LOVE ON THE RECORD1, will be published by St. Martin’s Griffin in 2026!!! This book means so much to me and I hope that readers will fall in love with Georgia and Rhett (and Norbert and Olie and the rest of the cast of characters).
January 2025 Note: The title has been changed to MOST ELIGIBLE!
Writing this book was so much fun. I started writing while I was querying another book and my goal was to pack this one full of as much zany, lovably-unhinged chaos as I could. Every time I sat down to write, I tried to remind myself to have fun.
I mostly succeeded. Mostly. That’s not to say that it wasn’t a difficult process. I almost gave up on the story a few times. I took a months-long break from drafting before coming back to it. At one point there was a murder in the book, which I have since nixed. But once I (mostly) nailed down all the important bits, I knew it was worth all the frustration and metaphorical sweat. Because I was completely head over heels for Georgia and Rhett. And luckily, I still am!
I’m excited (and nervous) to dive back into edits in the coming months. But for now, I’m mostly still a little (a lot) in shock, and feeling so grateful. The writing community is truly the best and I am so lucky to be a part of it. Special shout out to the SmoochPit mentorship program! If you are an unagented romance author, I cannot recommend the program highly enough! Mentee applications open on September 9! If any prospective mentees are curious about the program, I’d be more than happy to talk about my experience.
Movie Recommendation:
I don’t mean to be dramatic, but this is my favorite movie since Catching Fire. It’s right up there with Titanic. I thought everything about it was so, so well done, from the writing (hello amazing banter!) to the cinematography to the comedic moments. The acting was phenomenal and I felt like each side character had a really distinct, special personality. I will say that it felt a *little* light on the romance, but that is a complaint I have about almost every movie I watch.
That’s all for now! Thank you for reading :)

P.S.: Who else has been watching Jenn’s season of The Bachelorette?!
Though this title might change, I really love that it has the same acronym as Lord of the Rings.
So proud of you!!
Can't wait! :)
